Are Singaporeans racially prejudice? Do birds of a feather flock together or is Singapore truly a cultural melting pot where all nationalities mix freely together?
In Part 4 of our discussion on multiculturalism the focus of the debate shifts from structural discrimination to personal. The panellists discuss their childhood friends and how neighbourhood schools exposed them to different ethnic groups and influenced their friendship groups. The top schools , however, have a lot less ethnic minorities. Michael Heng, from the NGO, OnePeople.sg told the panel that  when his son went to Nanyang Primary school there were only about 6 Malays in his year group. This, he said, meant that it was very difficult for him to find a Malay friend.
Are there enough opportunities in Singapore to mix with other ethic groups? Tune in to find out more.
